British Defense Minister Gavin Williamson is reportedly planning to open several UK military bases across the globe following his nation’s impending divorce from the European Union; saying “this is our moment to be a true global player once more.”
Williamson spoke of creating a “British presence” in the Caribbean and “Far East” while addressing reporters this week.
“This is our moment to be that true global player once more – and I think the armed forces play a really important role as part of that,” Williamson said. “We are looking at those opportunities not just in the Far East but also in the Caribbean as well.
