Ohio Is the Worst Place to Trick or Treat

Sorry, kids in Ohio. A study found that Ohio is the worst state for trick-or-treaters. The average person in Ohio spends just $11.22 on Halloween candy. That's $5 below the national average of $16.45. Following Ohio on the stingy list are Georgia, Michigan, Alabama and Colorado.

The best state? Oregon, where people spend an average of $40.29 on candy. Other top states for trick-or-treaters are Washington, New Jersey, Utah and California, which round out the Top 5.

Other study facts: The cheapest day to buy candy is four days before Halloween. The most expensive day is the day before.
