A local resident is returning a library book to the Attleboro Public Library in Massachusetts 78 years late.
The book titled "The Young Lady at Home" by T.S. Arthur was brought in last week, but the original due date was November 21st, 1938. The library director said a man was cleaning out his friend's basement when he found the overdue book.
The late fee would amount to over two-thousand-dollars, but the library isn't pursuing it. The director also said it's not a book that would be put back on the shelves because of its condition (it was in terrible shape), but she still commends the man for having respect for the library and bringing it in.
