Playing Action Video Games Is Bad For Your Brain

According to a new study, playing action video games can be bad for the brain, actually reducing the amount of gray matter in your noggin.

Researchers found that the brain was especially harmed by playing first- and third-person shooting games because these games require the player to simply and quickly respond over and over with the same action. This habit is easy to learn, which means the brain doesn’t have to work very hard.

And, just like a muscle in your body, if you don’t use your brain, you lose it.
