Bee Attack Leaves One Dead And Several Injured

A landscaper is dead and several others hurt in a bee attack in Tucson, Arizona yesterday morning.

The Drexel Heights Fire District said two landscapers and a resident were attacked early in the day at a home in south Tucson. The landscaper died after firefighters took him inside the home for treatment.

The resident was hospitalized and the second landscaper and two firefighters were also stung. Two hives weighing about 150 pounds were found under the eaves of the house's porch.

A Bee removal expert said two massive hives, each weighing about 150 pounds, were uncovered in the ceiling of the home’s porch. Greg Williams removed about 30-thousand Africanized bees.
