American Airlines says it is searching for a new uniform supplier after complaints that its uniforms caused health problems. Nearly four-thousand airline workers have complained that the uniforms made by Twin Hill have led to health issues like skin reactions, breathing issues and thyroid problems.
As a result, the airline decided not to renew its contract with the Houston-based company. American says workers can wear their old uniforms, but some are displeased the uniforms haven't been totally recalled.
Twin Hill and American have said that testing of the uniforms has proven they are safe and none of the tests has found chemical levels in the fabric to be above industry standards. Twin Hill and American's contract ends in 2020.
