For one Alabama college student, it's 17 state lawns down and 33 lawns to mow.
Rodney Smith Jr. has a goal of mowing at least one lawn in every state. Smith is the founder of the nonprofit Raising Men Lawn Care Service. His organization mows lawns for elderly and disabled customers as well as single parents and members of the military.
The organization’s Facebook page says it’s “an organization designed to promote community awareness for our future (boys and girls ages 7-17). This program is a platform for our youth to give back to those in need.”
Smith says mowing lawns in 50 states is aimed at challenging himself and encouraging others to do good in their communities. Smith is also challenging others to mow lawns for others who can't do it themselves.
