According to a recent Rasmussen poll, President Donald Trump’s suggestion of refunding part of tariff revenue to taxpayers is believed to be a good idea by most voters. In just another example that everyone wants a check, comes this misguided idea. So will the people who are against tariffs get checks too?
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds:
62% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of the president’s proposal to give $2,000 refund payments to low- and middle-income households, funded by revenue from tariffs.
That includes 34% who Strongly Approve of the idea.
29% disapprove of the tariff refund idea, including 18% who Strongly Disapprove.
