Upper Sandusky - Troopers from the Bucyrus Post are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on June 7, 2023, at approximately 8:36 P.M on U.S. Route (US) 23 near milepost 16 in Wyandot County.
The crash involved a 2013 Ford Fusion, operated by Sofia Greggio, age 22, of Canton, Michigan, and a 2011 Volvo commercial truck, operated by Roberto Garces-Guzman, age 47, of North Bergen, New Jersey. Preliminary investigation reveals the Volvo was stopped on the right shoulder of US 23 northbound. The Ford was traveling northbound on US 23, traveled onto the right shoulder and struck the left rear trailer of the Volvo.
Patricia Romero-Tello, age 22, of Homestead, Florida was a passenger in the Ford. Ms.Romcro-Tello was pronounced deccased on scenc by the Wyandot County Coroner. Ms.Greggio was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay with minor injuries. Mr. Garces-Guzman did not sustain any injury from the crash. Seatbelts were in use for all three occupants
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, Upper Sandusky Police Department, Ohio Department of Transportation, Wyandot County
EMS, Upper Sandusky Fire Department, and Danner's Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
