Officers from the Marion Police Department responded to a call of shots being fired in the area of North Greenwood Street and Adams Street around 3:17 p.m. on October 26. Upon their arrival, they found two houses and a vehicle had been hit. No people were hit by the gunfire.
Through the investigation of officers and detectives, it was determined that a dispute between two juveniles was at the heart of the shooting. One 16-year-old male was arrested and transported to the Family Resource Center in connection to this investigation.
“While no one was shot in this incident, it was an extremely dangerous situation. Multiple shots being fired, in broad daylight, ended up striking two occupied homes and an occupied vehicle. It is only by the grace of God that we did not have fatalities out of this shooting” said Marion Police Chief Jay McDonald.
This investigation is ongoing, and investigators are seeking information about potential additional involved persons. If you have any additional information, please call detectives at 740-387-2222 or you can give information anonymously at 740-375-TIPS or at mariontips.org.
