(Cleveland) - WTAM recently had a tour of MetroHealth's new hospital, Glick Tower. Later this month, inpatients at MetroHealth's main campus on Scranton Road will be transferred from the iconic towers over to the Glick Center. Eventually, the towers will be demolished as part of a number of changes for Metrohealth's main campus.

MetroHealth officials are quick to point out that the new hospital features rooms that are large, with the ability to change each single-patient room, if necessary, to double-patient, or to ICU rooms. Rooms also have a floor-to-ceiling window to give them a more open look.

The new hospital building is part of a transformation of the campus. A new outpatient building and parking garage are under construction. There will be green space area to make MetroHealth more welcoming. And to help the community, the first of many housing opportunities supported by MetroHealth has opened to tenants., Low-income people and seniors will be among those who will be able to live in one of the housing units planned by Metrohealth.

MetroHealth's Glick Tower was paid for with bonds the hospital system sold. No tax dollars are being used for construction of the Glick Tower.
