VIOLENT ROBBER SENTENCED TO 20 - 27 YEARS IN PRISON

On August 4, 2022 Cedrick Riley pleaded guilty to two counts of Aggravated Robbery, with gun specifications. He was then sentenced to 20-27 years in prison.

“This case came together after phenomenal police work from the Marion Police Department. I hope this case sends the message that violent crime will not be tolerated in our community,” said Ray Grogan, Marion County prosecutor.

On October 25, 2021 Riley entered Domino’s Pizza on East Center Street in Marion and robbed the store at gunpoint. There were several people working in the store at the time. Riley then took several hundred dollars in cash. The very next day, Riley committed a robbery at gunpoint of Pop’s carry-out on North Main Street in Marion. He walked in, pointed a gun at the store owner, and then struck him, knocking him to the ground. Riley was not able to get any money from this robbery.

“I want to thank the Marion Police Department, and the many officers and detectives who worked on this case. I also want to thank the victims who came forward to send the message that we will not tolerate these crimes," said Grogan. This case was handled by Prosecutor Grogan and Riley's plea was accepted, and he was sentenced by, Judge Warren Edwards
