The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at approximately 6:18 PM, on Township Road 143 near County Road 132 in Cardington Township.
Jason E. Fee, age 43, of Cardington, Ohio, was operating a 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am westbound on Township 143. Ms. Amber S. Hall, age 23, of Cardington was a passenger in the vehicle. Mr. Fee drove off the right side of the roadway, over corrected drove off the left side of the roadway, and struck a barn.
Ms. Hall was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Fee sustained serious life threatening injuries and was transported to Ohio Health Grant Medical Center. Ms. Hall was wearing her seatbelt and Mr. Fee was not wearing his seatbelt. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Morrow County Sheriff's Office, Morrow County Fire/MS, and the Morrow County Coroner's Office.
The traffic crash remains under investigation by the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
