Former Marion County Coroner Mark Davis has won the Republican Marion County Commissioner primary election over incumbent Ken Stiverson by just 44 votes. The margin of victory is, unofficially, just over a half of a percent. City council member Jason Shaber received just under 17 percent of the vote. Davis will now face off in November against Democrat Kathy Masters, who ran unopposed in the primary. The Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities half mill renewal levy passed by 201 votes. In Marion County, 22.8 percent of registered voters turned out.

Statewide, Former Dayton mayor Nan Whaley is the projected winner in the Democrat race for Ohio governor. Incumbent Governor Mike DeWine is getting the nod on the Republican ticket. Trump endorsee JD Vance is the presumptive winner in the GOP's bid for U.S. Senate, with Tim Ryan representing the Democrats. Current Secretary of State Frank LaRose has also been selected by Republicans.
