Victim & Suspect Identified by Carey Police in Saturday Night Homicide

The Carey Police Department received a 911 call concerning a shooting at 104 Lindenwood Place. The arriving officer discovered a body in the street at the intersection of Lindenwood Place and Pine Tree Dr.

The body was a male and he was later pronounced deceased. The deceased has been identified as Nathan A. Stroub, 42 years old of Carey OH. Nathan suffered multiple gunshot wounds. An autopsy is scheduled for this morning at the Lucas County Coroner's Office

At 11:41 PM a male suspect in the incident arrived at the Carey Police Department and he was detained.

He was later transported to the Wyandot County Sheriff's office. The suspect, Samuel W. Seabert, 43 years old of Carey OH, was arrested on a charge of Homicide. Samuel's initial appearance is tentatively scheduled for 02/13/2023 at Upper Sandusky Municipal Court. Additional charges could be forth coming pending the investigation and the presentation to a Wyandot County Grand Jury.

The case is being investigated by the Wyandot County Major Crimes Unit and is being assisted by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
