On September 20, 2022, law enforcement officers from the Marion City Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant obtained through Judge Teresa Ballinger for a residence in the 300 block of Owens Street in the city of Marion after an investigation by detectives from the MARMET Drug Task Force.
Detectives seized approximately 171.73g of Methamphetamine, 1084.05g of suspected marijuana, 2 illegally possessed firearms and $5200.00 in US Currency.
The following were arrested during the execution of these search warrants.

Call was arrested and charged with Possession of Drugs and Weapons Under Disability. This case will be forwarded to Marion County Prosecutor Ray Grogan for the filing of formal charges.

We are appreciative of the assistance from the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office and of the community as each helped in getting these drugs off our streets.” said Marion Police Chief Jay McDonald.
Marion County Sheriff Matt Bayles said, “I’m not only happy to see these large drug seizures but I’m also just as happy to see that we are able to take guns from people who illegally possess them, without harm coming to anyone. We will continue to be proactive in this fight and glad that we have the assistance of the community who utilizes the tip line with information for these detectives.”
The MARMET Drug Task Force is made of members of the Marion City Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marion County Prosecutors Office.
