Upper Sandusky Students Sickened By Illegal Narcotics on School Property

On September 2, 2022, Officers with the Upper Sandusky Police Department were dispatched to the Upper Sandusky High School reference several students having an adverse reaction to illegal narcotics.

When officers and Wyandot County Emergency Medical Services arrived the student's medical needs were seen to, and Officers began an investigation. During the investigation officers determined that the illegal narcotics were brought to the school by a student.

Wyandot County EMS transported five students to Wyandot Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. As a result of investigation, officers assisted by the Wyandot County Major Crimes Unit and Wyandot County Sheriff's Office served a Search Warrant at 406 W. Spring St. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351 where detectives located Marijuana and Methamphetamines.

During the course of executing the search warrant Billy Ray Smith was arrested and transported to the Wyandot County Jail on multiple charges to include Aggravated possession of Methamphetamines.

The Upper Sandusky Police Department was assisted by the Wyandot County Major Crimes, Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, Wyandot County Emergency Services, the Wyandot County Juvenile Probation, and Wyandot County Job and Family Services.
