Five Nights on Campus Welcomes GATLIN to the Marion Campus

The Ohio State University at Marion is pleased to welcome the musical duo GATLIN to Morrill Hall Auditorium on the Marion campus, Thursday, May 12, 7:30 p.m. as part of the Five Nights on Campus performing arts series.

Andrea and Darryl Gatlin formed as a musical team in 2008. The duo's dynamic voices and diverse musical backgrounds create an exciting live show like none other, entertaining listeners with their high-energy vocally driven performances. Before joining forces as GATLIN, Darryl and Andrea were accomplished performers. Darryl achieved major success in Nashville with two albums on Sony/Epic Records, eleven performances on the Grand Ole Opry, CMA, TNN and ACM award nominations, countless tours with stars like Reba McEntire, Alabama, Oak Ridge Boys, The Mandrels and even a Billboard Top 40 Hit with "No Sir". Darryl has been a performer/singer/songwriter from a young age and his incredible voice has built a huge fan base all over the country.

Andrea's musical journey began at an early age and lead her to a degree in music from Ashland University. Her voice has taken her to many stages, including Miss Ohio, winning the award for Best Classical Talent and Preliminary Talent. She sings in six different languages and was a featured guest performer in England. She has written and recorded on a hip-hop album and was featured on Fox Sports Net as the National Anthem singer for the Columbus Blue Jackets NHL Team. Now located in southwest Florida, GATLIN performs over 200 shows a year between Florida and Ohio, entertaining audiences with their wide range of genres and captivating vocals.

Darryl Gatlin grew up in Beaver Falls, PA where he began singing with his brother Don at an early age. The duo went on to great success in Nashville, recording two albums with Sony/Epic Records and were nominated for Country Music Duo of the Year for five consecutive years. They performed on the Grand Ole Opry eleven times and performed with such legends as Merle Haggard, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Alabama, the Mandrell’s and many more. They scored a Billboard Top 40 hit with their single, No Sir, and three of their videos are in the TNN Hall of Fame. Darryl has been a singer, songwriter and entertainer his whole life, focusing on his live shows for the past ten years.

Andrea Ison Gatlin grew up in Marion, Ohio and earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Ashland University where she majored in music education with a vocal emphasis. Her voice has taken her to stages across the country and overseas to England with her ability to sing six languages and all styles of music, from opera to Broadway to hip-hop to classics and everything in between. She earned the Best Classical Talent award at the Miss Ohio Pageant and was featured on Fox Sports Net for her performances of the National Anthem at Columbus Blue Jackets NHL games.

Together, Darryl and Andrea have combined their dynamic voices and diverse musical backgrounds to create an exciting live show like none other. The duo can be seen all over Ohio, the Midwest, and the South, performing over 200 dates a year. Now based in southwest Florida, they travel the sunshine state entertaining tourists, then travel during the summer to their native Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, Massachusetts, South Carolina, and surrounding states for their summer tour.
