The Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal incident that occurred on April 22, 2022 at 9:21 PM. The incident occurred on US 224 near milepost 29 in the Village of Attica, Seneca County.
Unit #1- Mark Rathburn, age 44, of Tiffin, Ohio was driving a 2007 Honda Fit that was removed from the scene by Rush Towing. Mr. Rathburn was transported to Willard Mercy Hospital by Bloom-Scipio MS, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Unit 1 was westbound on US 224 when it traveled off the south side of the roadway and struck a house.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were Bloom-Scipio EMS, Seneca County Sheriff's Office, Seneca County Coroner's Office, and Rush Towing.
