Lifting Up Disabled Families: From Surviving to Thriving FREE Event

The Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) has a parent-led support group that meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month to support caregivers and parents on their journey.

The Family Support Group has organized a community event with two well-known authors in the developmental disabilities community to create further reach and magnify their efforts.

We invite all interested parties to register for a free event, Lifting Up Disabled Families: From Surviving to Thriving. The event will be held at the Brickyard, 135 South Main Street, Marion, Ohio, on Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm.

This event will host two inspiring authors and speakers, Kate Swenson and Jessica Ronne. Both authors' will share their stories of hope, love, acceptance, change, and building a village. Attendees will get an honest look into the lives of those with disabilities and the families who support them. This event aims to lift up disabled families by coming together, showing support, spreading awareness, restoring hope, and inspiring a village for change for a better future.

Those who attend will:

·     learn from parent advocates,

·     get a sneak peek of the Unseen Documentary that Ronne will be releasing this summer,

·     receive a free book from Swenson (first 225 attendees only),

·     engage with the authors,

·     stay for a book signing.

Registration is required, and space is limited. The deadline to register is April 1, 2022.
