Three Arrested in Marion on Drug Charges and More

On October 28th, 2021, law enforcement officers from the Marion Special Response Team, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion City Police Department, Wyandot County Major Crimes Units and the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office executed 3 search warrants simultaneously after an investigation by detectives from the MARMET Drug Task Force.

Narcotics search warrants were executed in the 200 block of South Main Street in Caledonia; the 2000 block of Matheny Drive, and the 2000 block of Whetstone River Road South. In total, 170.7 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, 335.1 grams of suspected Marijuana, suspected Ecstasy pills, 9 firearms and $3,337.00 in cash was seized.

The following people were arrested during the execution of these search warrants along with the charges that will be submitted to the Marion County Prosecutors Office for formal charges.

Probation Violation Warrant

This investigation is a direct result of TIPS called in by the citizens of Marion County & Marion City. Marion County Sheriff Matt Bayles said “The see something - say something campaign works well, the community and law enforcement working together continues to make Marion safer.”Sheriff Bayles also stated, “I have no doubt that the seizure of these illegal drugs and guns during this investigation saved lives and the Sheriff’s Office continues to have a zero tolerance for illegal drugs in our community.”

Marion Police Chief Jay McDonald stated, “I am proud of the officers and deputies involved in this investigation.I truly believe that they are making an #MPACT in our community with their focus on taking major traffickers off our streets.”

The MARMET Drug Task Force is made of members of the Marion City Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marion County Prosecutors Office.
