Male Arrested After Pursuit into Morrow County

On September 30, 2021, at approximately 2:11 p.m. Detective’s from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were conducting pro-active patrol at area hotel parking lots. During this time a license plate was ran on a vehicle and it was found that the registered owner had an active arrest warrant out of the Ashland Police Department. This truck was occupied by a white male who was suspected of being the one that the warrant was for, so detectives awaited a marked patrol car to the area. Once the patrol car arrived, they approached this male while he was in his vehicle and the subject put his truck in gear and fled nearly striking the deputies and detective’s. The male fled the area North on Pole Lane Road and then East on Marseille’s Galion Road until deputies lost sight of him. This vehicle was travelling over 100 miles per hour and being operated in a very reckless manner.

The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the vehicle description and of the pursuit, a short time later they located this truck around State Route 61 and another pursuit began. The male lost control of his vehicle and drove off the road into a bean field and exited the truck. After a short foot pursuit, he was taken into custody after wielding a knife to the deputy. The suspect was then taken into custody without further incident. The male was identified as 29-year-old Jordan Eagleston from Mansfield, Ohio. Jordan was transported to Marion General Hospital for medical treatment and then eventually released and transported to the Multi County Jail. Formal charges of Attempted Assault on a Peace Officer, and Failure to comply will be forwarded to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. A special thanks to our partners from the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office for taking this dangerous individual off the streets.
