Marion Palace Theatre Offers a Variety of Fall Entertainment Opportunities

Marion, Ohio – The months of September and October offers entertainment seekers a plethora of choices at the historic Marion Palace Theatre. Along with movie weekends, live events scheduled to take place include a classic rock concert, a local musical production, auditions, and a concert featuring three fan favorite Country Music artists.

Kicking off the touring artist series at the Palace is legendary rock group JEFFERSON STARSHIP on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. Joining original band members David Freiberg (vocals), Donny Baldwin (drums), and Pete Sears (bass) are Chris Smith (keyboards), Jude Gold (guitar), and Grammy Nominee Cathy Richardson (vocals) performing their catalog of hits including “Volunteers,” “White Rabbit,” “Wooden Ships,” “Somebody to Love,” “Today,” “Miracles,” “Fast Buck Freddie,” “Jane,” and “Find Your Way Back.” Reserved seating tickets are available for purchase and are priced at $34, $40, $46, and $52. JEFFERSON STARSHIP is sponsored by Dostal & Kirk Insurance and Financial Services.

 Dozens of local youth will take the Palace stage and present, “MADAGASCAR, A MUSICAL ADVENTURE, JR.” on October 8, 9, and 10, 2021. Directed by Kristi Wink, the family-friendly show follows the antics of comical characters Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the Hippo, and a group of hilarious, plotting penguins. Friday and Saturday show time is at 7:00 p.m.; Sunday’s performance is at 2:00 p.m. Reserved seating tickets are $19 Adult; $12 Child age 12 and younger. “MADAGASCAR, JR.” is sponsored by Jim & Barb Greetham.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the Palace Production of “CHRISTMAS AT THE PALACE,” directed by Clare Cooke. Cooke is seeking local talent (individuals and groups) to showcase in the annual holiday show December 3, 4, and 5, 2021. Auditions will take place on the Palace stage. An accompanist will be provided for vocalists. CDs are permitted.

October will close out with ROOTS & BOOTS ON TOUR featuring Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye, and Aaron Tippin. These three celebrated artists, who defined 90s Country Music, will join forces for a one-night only concert on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. Concert-goers will experience Karshaw’s timeless hits including “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” Raye’s searing ballads such as “In This Life,” and Tippin’s legendary songs like “You’ve Got to Stand for Something.” Reserved seating is $32, $38, $44, $50. Movie weekends scheduled to take place this fall are as follows: September 17, 18, 19; October 1, 2, 3; October 15, 16, 17. Titles for films will be announced at a later date.
