Union County Sheriff Deputies are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Buck Run Road, south of State Route 245 in Allen Township yesterday afternoon.

On Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at approximately 4:01 pm, the Union County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 emergency call reporting a two-vehicle crash with serious injuries in the 22000 block of Buck Run Road.

Deputies and units from the Allen Township Fire Department and the Union Township Fire Department responded to the scene and found a 2003 Harley Davidson Motorcycle and a 2021 Dodge Ram Truck were involved in the crash.

Two victims were ejected from the motorcycle and were initially transported to Memorial Hospital. One of the victims, a juvenile passenger, was then transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hospital and has been identified as Clinton A. Rice, age 45 of Milford Center. The driver of the Dodge Truck was not injured.

The preliminary investigation has determined the Harley Davison Motorcycle was traveling northbound on Buck Run Road when it struck the 2021 Dodge Ram truck that was turning into a driveway.

Both victims on the motorcycle were wearing helmets. At this time, investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
