August 5th: Marion Public Health Offering a $100.00 Gift Card For Vaccine.

On Thursday, August 5th, Marion Public Health will be offering a $100.00 gift card to any Marion County resident who gets their first COVID-19 vaccine. This will be a Johnson & Johnson vaccine clinic for 18 years of age and older. ID will be required. This one-day vaccination clinic will be by appointment only and held at the health department located at 181 S. Main Street. For more information on vaccine availability or to set-up an appointment, residents are being asked to call the health department at 740-387-6520.

According to the CDC, Marion County has moved to “substantial” for community transmission of COVID-19. It is recommended to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status while indoors. Our county is at 40.61% of at least 1st dose started and 37.93% vaccines completed. Sarah Nicewaner, Director of Nursing, is encouraging the public to get vaccinated, wear masks while indoors, and stay home if you are feeling sick.

For the safety of our patients, as well as our staff, Marion Public Health is implementing a mask requirement for anyone coming into the building. Disposable masks will be available or you can bring your own. All health department employees will be wearing masks.

MPH is also offering back-to-school shots by appointment only by calling 740-387-6520.
