Marion – Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on June 14, 2021, at approximately 7:36 P.M. on Marion Edison Rd. (County Road 169) in Claridon Township, Marion County.
The crash involved a 1999 Honda Shadow motorcycle, driven by Gregory M. Christie, age 63, of Marion, Ohio. Mr. Christie was traveling eastbound on Marion Edison Rd, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
Mr. Christie was transported by First Consolidated EMS to Marion General Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Mr. Christie was not wearing a helmet.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, First Consolidated Fire Department and EMS, and B&B Towing.
This crash remains under investigation.
