Two area counties remain under a Level 2 snow emergency this morning, Crawford and Hardin. Counties under a less severe Level One emergency on Wednesday include Marion, Wyandot, and Morrow. Road conditions are considered hazardous and motorists are urged to drive with caution.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is asking drivers to use caution around snowplows following several accidents this month. ODOT officials said yesterday that eleven plow trucks had been hit over the past two weeks while attempting to clear roads, including one fatal accident to a motorist near Cleveland. The number is already up over last year when eight plow trucks were involved in accidents. ODOT warns drivers that plow operators have a limited field of vision, and if a driver can't see the plows' side-view mirrors, then the plow can't see you.

Health Department officials are reporting just over two-thousand new cases of COVID-19. Tuesday's update showed two-thousand-26 new coronavirus positives, 59 additional deaths, and 104 more hospitalizations. Governor DeWine said the winter storm this week could cause shipping delays of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and those with appointments should contact their provider. The number of vaccinations in Ohio is estimated to be around one-point-three-million, or about eleven percent of the state's population.
