Marion Public Health is honored to announce that effective October 1st the Board of Health appointed Dr. Michael McCleese to serve as Marion’s public health physician. Along with specializing in Internal Medicine at Ohio Health, Dr. McCleese will serve as the Medical Director for MPH. Dr. McCleese replaces Dr. Leonard Janchar who served as the Medical Director for 7 years.
In his role as Medical Director, Dr. McCleese will support the public health nursing team and serve as an advocate for the health of the community.
Dr. McCleese has deep roots in Marion. After graduating from River Valley High School in 2007, he studied medicine at The Ohio State University and at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. He served a residency with Adena Health Systems in Chillicothe.
Dr. McCleese and his family reside in Marion.
