Woman Shot On Clinton Street in Marion; Arrest Made

Officers from the Marion Police Department responded to the 200 block of Clinton Street at 6:46 a.m. Sunday morning for a shooting call. They located Melinda Holsinger, age 30, who had been shot in the leg while inside her residence. She was taken to Marion General Hospital by Marion City Fire Department Squad and later taken to Grant Hospital via MedFlight. Her injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.

Jason A. Armbruster, Age 33 of Marion, was arrested at a residence in the 900 block of Bennett Street at 9:11 a.m. without incident. He was taken to Multi-County on felonious assault charges pending his initial appearance in court. Additional charges could be filed in the future as well.

“We are extremely grateful that this domestic related shooting did not result in a homicide. Officers and Detectives continue to actively investigate this violent crime and if anyone has any information, we ask that they call the Investigations Bureau of the Marion Police Department at 740-387-2222” said Interim Chief Jay McDonald of the Marion Police Department.
