Marion Mayor Scott Schertzer announced that Major Jay McDonald will be the interim Chief of Police, upon the retirement of current Chief Bill Collins in October. Major McDonald was selected to the post due to his seniority and experience. All of Marion’s Police Majors will have the opportunity to take the Chief of Police test in the next few months to determine who will lead our police force next.
