Guns, Drugs, and Cash Seized in Marion Hotel Raid

On August 18, 2020 around noon, detectives from the MARMET/METRICH Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Adult Parole Authority served a warrant at Americas Best Value Inn located at 1952 Marion Mt. Gilead Rd in Marion County. The warrant was issued due to drug trafficking.

During the search of the hotel room, detectives located 4 firearms, 3 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 9.2 grams of crack cocaine, and $5100 in cash.

Sheriff Tim Bailey states, “Chief Bill Collins, Prosecutor Ray Grogan, and I continue to support and provide resources for the MARMET Drug Task Force to fight drug crimes locally. This continues to be a Nationwide issue and we will not ignore it locally.”

This is the second time in recent months where MARMET has served a drug trafficking warrant at this hotel.
