(Marion) Marion Technical College announced its plan to return to campus this Fall Semester. MTC’s 2500 students can select on campus, online, and hybrid class options. Fall classes are set to start Aug. 24.
“Students can pick the options that best fits their needs,” said Dr. Ryan McCall, president of Marion Tech.
For those who return to campus, they are required to wear a mask, take their temperature, and be symptom-free of COVID-19. Students can learn more about the additional cleaning and safety precautions on www.mtc.edu. Should the pandemic worsen, the college is prepared to go fully online if the campus is closed.
College students can still enroll at MTC for the full Fall Semester or shorter 8-week sessions starting Aug. 24 and Oct. 18.
“With many other colleges and universities announcing frequent changes to fall plans that might have parents or student rethinking their choices, it may be a good time to take a second look at MTC, and take comfort in the benefits of staying close to home during the pandemic,” McCall said. “Many students can benefit from our tuition savings, and can save thousands taking online classes from MTC compared to large universities that may be closing campus completely this fall.”
Marion Tech has also been helping its neediest students. The college provided emergency funds totaling $457,250 to approximately 800 needy students. These come from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funding/CARES Act. The individual awards ranged from $250 to $800. Limited funds are available to help those still struggling with an additional award of $250. Details are on the Financial Aid page of mtc.edu.
“Many of our students struggle in normal circumstances. If the pandemic has caused a crisis, students should reach out to a faculty or staff member to get connected to help,” McCall said. “From the Marion Campus food pantry to the student resource navigator, we have resources to help students thrive and succeed.”
With affordable, flexible, local, transferrable classes, Marion Technical College represents a smart way to get to your next degree, certificate, career or promotion. For more, go to www.mtc.edu.
