Marion Sheriff Issues a Door-to-Door Sales Warning!

Sheriff Bailey wants to warn the community about solicitors that are going door-to-door in the county. Although Marion and some of the villages have prohibitions to door-to-door solicitors, it is allowed in the county. The sheriff's office has received a few suspicious activities calls about salespeople showing up at their houses. In both cases the salesperson was a white woman dressed in a tank top (NOT looking very professional). The woman was selling soap and other cleaning supplies, offering free samples. However, in both cases the salesperson wanted to or tried to enter the home. Also, in both cases a white male subject driving a white Honda Pilot was in the area taking the woman up to the houses. Sheriff Bailey wants everyone to be mindful of this activity and to be careful about allowing any unsolicited people into your homes. Deputies have been checking the areas where the white Honda was last seen. These subjects may be legitimate, but wanting to enter the home is something everyone needs to know about. If you have contact with these subjects and get a picture of them, share below so everyone can be more informed.
