Marion County Prosecutor Ray Grogan announced today that the Marion County Grand Jury has indicted a Marion County couple for the abuse and murder of a 3 year old boy on July 4th weekend.
Grogan said, “Shaquille Cochran, 27, the boy’s father and his girlfriend Angel Renee Morgan, 23, both of 879 Bennett Street, have been arrested and are being held pending their arraignment on Monday in Common Pleas Court.”
“Kashon Cochran, the victim, who turned 3 years old in May, died on July 5, 2020 and was found to have suffered from abusive head and neck trauma, malnutrition and dehydration,” said Grogan.
Cochran and Morgan were each indicted on two counts of Murder, one alleging the child died as a result of the defendants committing a felonious assault, the second stating the defendants tortured or cruelly abused the child resulting in serious physical harm. Both Cochran and Morgan were also indicted for Felonious Assault and Endangering Children.
Every person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
