MARMET Makes Historic Fentanyl Bust

On 05-01-2020, the MARMET Drug Task Force concluded a several month-long investigation into the sale of Fentanyl. Warrants were executed as part of that investigation in the 400 block of Executive Dr, the 400 block of Lynn Dr, and the 100 block of S. Seffner Ave. and enough suspected Fentanyl was seized to kill 215,000 citizens. In all, MARMET recovered 430 grams of Fentanyl, a firearm and $10,000 in cash was seized.

Chief Collins stated, “This seizure of fentanyl, one of the largest Fentanyl busts in Marion history, undoubtedly saved lives of citizens of our community and perhaps others as well. We are grateful that this major drug trafficker was able to be apprehended without any incident. Marion’s law enforcement officers continue to do all they can to protect and serve our community, even in this COVID-19 crisis.”

Arrested was Travon Floyd, age 23, of Marion, Ohio. Floyd was taken to the Multi County Jail and charges are pending. MARMET would like to thank the Marion City Police Department, Marion City SRT Team, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Prosecutor, Marion County Adult Probation and the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this case.
