In the culmination of a three-month investigation, Members of the MARMET/METRICH Drug Task Force served a search warrant on a Chicago Avenue home Friday afternoon.
Detectives arrested 24-year-old Brandon Kairis of Chicago Avenue in Marion and seized 148 grams of Fentanyl (1st Degree Felony), $3,200 cash and several digital scales
“Our taskforce leaders meet daily to ensure our continued delivery of vital services to residents throughout this COVID-19 crisis”, said Marion Police Chief Bill Collins. “Much has changed in our world in this past week, but what was true before remains true today and each day moving forward. MARMET will continue to seek out the criminals that prey upon our population through the trafficking of these deadly drugs. While the good people of our community do their best to self-quarantine for the greater good, we have a reliable isolation plan for these dealers as well”.
The MARMET/METRICH Task Force was assisted in this operation by the Marion Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Dog Warden and Marion County Childrens’ Services.
MARMET is comprised of members from the Marion Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. MARMET is a member of the regional METRICH Enforcement Unit.
