On Friday, March 13, 2020 at approximately 4:53 pm, the Union County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 emergency call reporting a two-vehicle head-on crash with serious injuries on US Route 36, west of State Route 4 in Union Township. Deputies and units from the Union Township Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Fire District, and the Allen Township Fire Department responded to the scene and found a 2004 Honda Element and a 2004 Ford F-150 involved in a head-on collision. Medflight was called to the scene and transported one victim to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. A second victim has been transported to Memorial Hospital in Marysville. A third victim has been transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital. A fourth victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and has not yet been identified. The Union County Coroners Office has been called to the scene and US Route 36 remains closed at this time.
The crash is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Multi County Crash Investigation Team.
