On Tuesday, the Bucyrus Fire Department responded to a house fire at 570 South Poplar Street. The residents were not home at the time of the fire which according to early reports is believed to have started in the basement of one of the two residences of an adjoined residence. The fire is still under investigation, residents on both sides of the home said they have had issues with the breaker box recently. Firefighters do not believe this is the breaker box was the cause of the fire and the fire was not seen in the basement.
