City of Marion Ending Contract With Marion Public Health

Marion Public Health was notified that the City of Marion will be ending their contract with them effective December 31st of this year. The health department was sent a letter from Mayor Schertzer last month notifying Marion Public Health the District Advisory Council and the Marion County Auditor's Office. Under the current contract the city pays for 53 percent of the costs for services and the District Advisory Council pays for 47 percent of the costs. The Health Department is losing around 339,000 dollars the part the city was to pay for 2020.
