Marion Firefighters responded Thursday at 1:47pm to 1008 Fairwood Ave on the north side for a report of a house fire. Heavy smoke showing with fire venting from two side of the house. Marion Twp provided aid with an Engine. 6 off duty Marion Firefighters were called in to assist.
There was heavy damage to the home. No one was injured in the fire. One family cat died in the fire.
Red Cross on scene to provide assistance to the family. The fire is under investigation.
