On September 20, at 5:32 p.m., the Marion Police Department responded to Marion General Hospital for a report of a shooting. It was determined that the shooting occurred in the 290 block of East Center Street in the City of Marion. Destiny Oney of Marion had been shot inside a vehicle near the area of McWilliams Court and East Center Street. Ms. Oney was eventually transported from Marion General to Riverside Hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.The white male shooter fled the area on foot. The suspect is described as a young adult white male, wearing a white hoodie shirt with pastel colored polka dots on it and blue jeans. It was reported he has dark hair. **UPDATE**
Detectives with the Marion Police Department have
made an arrest in this case on 9-22-2019. The suspect is
a juvenile male. He has been taken to JDC and is
awaiting formal charges on Monday. No further
information will be released today.
