Officials with Delaware County Emergency Management say they have found and fixed the problem which caused a tornado shelter to malfunction during a storm on Saturday. Director Sean Miller said yesterday a radio frequency sent to unlock the shelter failed to activate, which kept the doors to the facility locked, as around 100 people gathered to seek safety. The shelter is located at Delaware State Park and is a 28-foot tall dome that can hold over 800 people while withstanding winds up to 200-miles-per-hour. Miller said the problem had been fixed, but they will continue to look at procedures today.
