Kroger Recalls Berries And Blackberries Over Possible Contamination

Kroger Grocery Stores are issuing a recall of frozen Private Selection brand berries and blackberries due to possible contamination of the hepatitis A virus. The company said yesterday no customer illnesses had been reported, but the FDA had tested the product and found the virus which can lead to acute liver failure. Recalled items include Private Selection Triple Berry Medley in 48 and 16-ounce packages and 16-ounce Private Selection Frozen Blueberries. Officials said the berries had been removed from Columbus area Kroger shelves, but anyone who has purchased them should return them to the store of purchase for a refund or replacement.
