A man from Carey has been arrested for a charge of attempt to murder in Hancock County. The Hancock county Sheriffs office was dispatched Sunday at 2:27 p.m. to the 800 block of TR 136 in Portage Township. Police said 37-year-old Chad Howard was attempting to murder his wife and a minor child while inside the home. Police were able to arrest Howard after a short standoff before any loss of life.
