Dana Lee Slane

Dana “The Boatman” Slane, 58 born into this world May 1, 1960 and taken too soon from us on April 26, 2019. Dana was born to the late Paul William Slane and Stella “Jerri” Slane of Marion, Ohio.

Dana married the love of his life Lisa Hoffman on July 1, 1996 after already being together (and Lisa putting up with him) for 12 years! Together they had a son Ryan (Jackie) Slane of Marion and they gave Dana two grandchildren Aryanna and Brayden. Also surviving are his daughter Ashleigh (Matt) Everly and Dana’s grandchildren Zane and Briggs Everly also of Marion.

Dana has 4 siblings Steven (Elrien) Slane of Indian Lake, Victoria Brown, Trina Hatten, and Patrick Slane all of Marion. He has numerous nieces and nephews that he loved so much and they will miss him to pieces.

Dana was everyone’s friend at some time in their life or another. Whether it was running the streets of Marion as a child, hot rodding around in his teens and twenties, or on the water in his “adult” years. (We all know Dana was really never an adult) Dana had a love for music and you could always hear him coming from a mile away. He loved to dance, sing, and most of all make people laugh. Dana enjoyed NASCAR and the Ohio State Buckeyes! He just recently purchased the boat of his dreams and couldn’t wait to be on the water all summer showing off his new toy...Delaware Dam may be a little more quiet this year but he will definitely be there in spirit.

Dana truly was one of kind and will forever live in our hearts and on the water. Anchors up!
