One Person In Custody After Marion County Pursuit

On Friday (April 5) around 6 pm a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling in the 1500 block of Marion Mt. Gilead Road when the deputy observed a vehicle operating in a reckless manner and then observed other traffic violations and attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle then fled as the deputy pursued it with his lights and siren on. After a short pursuit the driver fled the vehicle on foot, Sheriff Bailey and additional deputies responded to the area to assist and the deputy apprehended the driver who fled on foot. The passenger remained in the vehicle and was questioned and released. The driver, identified as 31 year old Justin Wesley Davis from Columbus.was suspected of ingesting methamphetamine and other illegal narcotics and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Davis also tossed a gun out of the window during the pursuit, Davis was also found to have 3 felony warrants. Davis will be incarcerated at the Multi County Correctional Center following his treatment.
