Edward Martin Jr. , age 71, passed away at Marion General Hospital on March 7, 2019. He lived a full life. Edward was born on December 18, 1947 in Red Bank, NJ to the late Edward and Therese (Till) Martin Sr., On August 19, 1972 he was joined in marriage to Patricia (Rowe) Martin. She survives in Marion, OH.
Edward served his country in the United States Air Force. After moving to Marion, he worked at Todco Overhead Door 35 years, retiring from there in 2012.
He truly was a family man. His first priority was always Patty, his daughters and his grandson.
He was a sports fan. He loved his Washington Redskins, even when they didn’t win. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Patricia Martin, daughters Hilda Martin and Therese Martin both of Marion, his grandson James Daso, Jr., sisters Barbara Baxter of Lynnville, TN and Betty Smalley of Lynchburg, VA, sisters-in-law Cathy (Ron) Walker, Connie Harris, brothers-in-law David Rowe and Danny Rowe, and many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law Donald and Ruth Rowe, brother-in-law Neil Baxter, and sister-in-law Janet Rowe.
The family will receive friends and family for calling hours on Tuesday March 12, 2019 from 5 – 7 PM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St. in Marion. Service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday March 13, 2019 at the funeral home, officiated by Bill Middleton and Nick Worden. Burial will immediately follow at Waldo Cemetery in Waldo, OH.
