Troopers from the Marion Post of the Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday (Feb 3) at 5:17 pm on CR 37 at CR 35 in Marion County.
The crash involved a gray 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 72 year-old Paul C. Sisson of LaRue, and a 2003 Dodge Intrepid driven by 25 year-old Diego C. Diego of Marion. Sisson was eastbound on CR 37, Diego was northbound on CR 35. Diego failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck in the intersection by Sisson. Both vehicles came to rest in a field.
Mr. Sisson was transported to Marion General Hospital, and then later transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Mr. Diego was transported to Marion General Hospital and later pronounced deceased.
No charges have been filed at this time and the crash remains under investigation.
