Betty Louise Flohr, age 91, passed away on January 23, 2019 at 3:45 AM. Betty spent most of her life in Indiana moving to Marion, Ohio in September of 2016.
Betty was born in Grabill, Indiana on April 13, 1927 to the late Melvin Kinsel and Gertie Floretta (Ainsworth) Downing. Betty attended Harlan High School graduating in the 1945. Furthering her education, Betty attended St. Joseph School of Nursing.
Betty was joined in marriage to Bill Dean Flohr in November of 1948; together they spent 65 years together until his passing on March 14, 2013.
Betty, a gifted care giver, worked for12 years as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital and later started a 30 year career as a registered nurse at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Indiana.
Being a woman of faith, Betty and Bill spent countless hours volunteering at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Carmel, Indiana where they were founding members.
Betty will be missed by children, Michael (Melinda) Flohr of Carmel, Indiana and Joyce (Marshall) Zimmerman of Marengo, Ohio; grandson, Matthew Flohr of Carmel, Indiana; brother, Frederick (Margaret) Downing of Grabill, Indiana; and great-niece, Sandy Radican-Shikaly.
