Judge Jim Slagle is facing a challenger this November election. Franklin County assistant prosecutor, Warren Tom Edwards, will be on the ballot this November as an independent candidate to challenge Judge Slagle. It is the first time Slagle is up for re-election to the bench since he defeated then incumbent Robert Davidson for the judge's seat in a three-way race in 2012. The Marion County Board of Elections voted Wednesday to certify Edwards’, petition for candidacy, after he collected enough valid signatures to be put on the ballot. Edwards is a resident of Caledonia.
